At a Preliminary Hearing, Attorney Emkey requested a bail reduction for
a client who was incarcerated for close to 30 days (since the day of his
arrest). The district justice refused to address the bail reduction and
continued the Preliminary Hearing for at least 2 weeks. Attorney Emkey
immediately went to the Court of Common Pleas and filed an emergency motion
for a bail reduction.The Judge (in the Court of Common Pleas) granted
Attorney Emkey's request and gave his client Unsecured Bail. Attorney
Emkey's client was immediately released from prison, saving the client
from anymore jail time!
