On Friday, July 26, 2013, charges were dismissed at the Preliminary Hearing
level against client. The client, a city of Reading resident, was incarcerated
on allegations of robbery, a felony of the third degree. The allegations
alleged that our client grabbed a set of keys and drove off in the victim's
car. However, the District Attorney's Office was unable to sustain
their burden of proof at the Preliminary Hearing, and following argument
in front of the Magisterial Judge, the charges were dismissed. A felony
of the third degree is punishable by up to seven (7) years incarceration
and a $15,000 fine.
