Michael J. Schoen
About
Michael J. Schoen, Esquire, was born and raised in Philadelphia and Montgomery County, Michael brings a rare dual-perspective to his practice, shaped by meaningful experience both prosecuting criminal cases in Berks County and defending healthcare providers in complex civil litigation matters in Philadelphia.
Before joining Emkey Law Firm, Michael served the County of Berks as an Assistant District Attorney, where he prosecuted serious criminal cases through bench and jury trials, litigated preliminary and evidentiary hearings, and worked closely with law enforcement on charging decisions and investigative guidance.
While at the DA's Office, Mike served as the DA’s representative on the Berks County DUI Treatment Court Team, giving him a deep, practical understanding of DUI cases and the real-world issues that often come with them. Today, Michael focuses his practice on criminal defense, with an emphasis on DUI defense and PennDOT license suspension appeal hearings. He also represents clients in personal injury matters and draws on substantial civil litigation experience, including high-stakes cases involving detailed records, expert issues, and rigorous discovery.
Mike is excited to establish Emkey Law Firm’s Lancaster County Office, located at The Candy Factory — at 342 N Queen Street in the city of Lancaster.
